Bath Community Garage Sale
Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 8:00a.m. - 3:00p.m.
The Bath Business Association (BBA) in cooperation with Bath Township, is once again sponsoring the annual Bath Community Garage Sale on BBA members will organize the community-wide event, providing promotion, advertising, registration and signs for participating residents, neighborhoods, businesses, governmental bodies, and non-profit organizations.
Proceeds from the sale provide funding to the BBA Scholarship program. In addition to providing judges and a monetary award for the annual Revere High School Business Class's Business Plan competition, the BBA chose to set up a $500 to $1,000 annual scholarship for a graduating senior planning to further their education by pursuing studies in business. Scholarship applications are provided to Bath area schools. The selected student will best show a combination of commitment to further their study in business, work experience and academic success, along with financial need. The amount of the scholarship depends on the success of the Garage Sale. The BBA anticipates the community will continue to help support our young people by participating.

Bath Business Association Scholarship
For the past two years, the Bath Business Association has sponsored the Bath Community Garage Sale, with proceeds from that sale used as monetary awards to Revere High School business class students in the annual Business Plan competition.
This year, members of the BBA approved expanding that outreach to young people through an annual scholarship for a graduating senior from Bath Township planning to pursue a business-related major in an accredited college, university or technical school.
“The mission statement of the BBA is to promote and encourage business in Bath,” said Don Corbett, chair of the BBA’s Scholarship Committee. “What better way to do this with the next generation of entrepreneurs than to provide a scholarship to help them achieve their business education.”
In addition to living in Bath and planning to study a business-related major, the recipient should have at least a 2.5 GPA. Also, extracurricular activities, community involvement and work experience during high school will be an important part of the selection process.
The scholarship amount this year is $500, but the BBA has tied future scholarship awards to the proceeds from the annual Bath Community Garage Sale.
“We are confident, given the past history of the success of this sale, that we can increase this award to at least $1,000 in the years ahead,” said BBA President Ken Baldwin.
The scholarship application is available through the Revere High School Guidance office for students at RHS. Students attending other high schools or home schooled can find the application on-line at the BBA website or copies will be available at The Bake Shop in Ghent, 800 Wye Road, during regular business hours.
The application deadline is May 15, and the winner will be notified no later than early June. For more information, call 330-666-3347.
